That's a pretty broad question. Are you thinking of adopting or giving up a child for adoption? I think its a great concept. I think that you should know if your the type of person who can adopt. I have always known that I could love someone elses child as mine own. I always had the idea that I may adopt in the future. I just found out recently that I can't have my own children and maybe that's why I've always felt that way.

I think that giving a child away must be the hardest most selfless decision a person could make. I personally couldn't ever give my child away but have a strong respect for any parents who make that decision where they feel it's in the best interest of their child.

Each and every situation is different.

Pet adoption from shelters and rescues should be the first place people go when seeking a new member of their family.

Adoption in general is a wonderful idea for all parties involved. I think it's sad that child adoption is becoming something fashionable or a fad. It's what the "in" crowd does. It's like impulse buying of people.

If you're ready to save up $ for the child's life - food, clothes, college, doctor's bills - then I think it is beautiful to share your love and patience with a child who's unwanted by others!
Nobody likes stretch marks or cramps and vomitting, so I'd choose adoption over all that.
Plus, 'mistakes' happen a lot- "Oops, I'm pregnant and I don't want the baby"- which is so sad for the helpless little human being that ends up being forgotten and alone. So, I'd recommend adoption all the way!

I think adoption is a great thing! For people unable to have biological children, or those just wanting to provide a stable home for children w/out a family, it's a fantastic idea.

The potential parents should be thoroughly investigated, 'tho. There has been so much lately in the news about adopted or foster children being mistreated.

I think its a wonderful option for a woman & man..Being adopted myself & lucking out with great parents raising me I see nothing wrong in doing so,or adopting someone out is just as cool too..I do believe in pro choice despite my own situation ,as I will always believe some abortions are justified by medical reason or situations creating that decision..I don't care what others think of my own beliefs, thats something thats so personal its rare that I even let others know my opinions on such a sensitive subject..=)Adoption is great..=)

For the right person, it can be wonderful. My sister adopted a baby 16 years ago, she wasn't able to conceive. The child couldn't possibly have better parents.

I think adoption is great...so many kids out here need good parents with plenty of love...you don't have to give birth to a child to love it...you just need a heart

Um, it's a good thing, as long as the adults who are adopting the kid are stable mentally/financially.
