Why do black and white people have different nose shapes?

Question

White people's nose tend to be pointed while that of black is more round!

Can we please keep it clean and not resort to racist remarks. I asked because I would like informative answers, no need to be rude please!

Despite what some people here assert, your observation is generally true. Different nose shapes (along with a lot of other characteristics) have evolved in order to adapt to different climates. People living in hotter climates tend to have wider noses, and they also tend to have darker skin. People in cooler climates tend to have slimmer noses to help warm the air as it enters the nostrils and before it hits the lungs. They also tend to have lighter skins so they can absorb more sunlight, which is in shorter supply.

This is nothing to do with racism - it is simply evolution.

Let me start by saying I don't think it's a racist question and people should not be quick to shout racism at every question that acknowledeges that people of different races have different features, it's quite boring really. I'm originally from West Africa and one of the things I have noticed about whites is some of their features is different from that of blacks. It could well be genetics or as someone explained as a result of the different climates we live in.

Great Britain conquered India centuries ago. So the Indians and whites, small percent I'm guessing, mixed, as in the race of their offspring. Fast forward years later, and with the genes being passed on, then you'll get what you have today. So thanks to the Brits. May God save the Queen.

It is obvious that every ethnicity have different features. I have met alot of white people with bulbous noses and roman nose... not all white people have a pointed nose.

any many easter africans ( I am not going to point to someone of mixed ethnicity) have straigh nose.

the reason for that whites can do better in cold then us black people you find them in the cold more then black people the slimmer the nose the less cold up it and were in the heat so we have the shape that we have that's how you can tell what parts of the world we come from

Rashanya stated it correctly. From what I learned in anthropology, it had something to do with how people/man evolved in different climates. Some black people have narrowed noses due to racial admixture. My bridge is narrow, but my nostrils are somewhat flared.

If you wanted informative answers why did you ask such a stereotypical question. All black people do not posses the same nose and neither do white people. Your question was either an attempt at humor or has racism written all over it. Either one your question is as irrelevant as asking "why does it rain some days and some days not?" Get a clue honey would you.

i no its jst from the genes in it i am not being racist of any kind but with black african,carribean and samalians being quite similar in look wise i can always tell which one is samalian with the shape of the head and the nose that was totally random but i can jst always tell i hope this isnt offensive
