Rebuttal: I'm talking women's rights. It wasn't too long ago we couldn't even vote or own property or have the right to our children. Every advancement counts. I fought my way up from the bottom against all odds, you get it free now.

I think its pretty cool considering I couldn't even be on the chess team in high school. They didn't know or care how I could play, they just didn't 'think' women could play.
Speaker of the House, sounds wonderful.

Well Towanda, we also have Condi Rice, the first black female secretary of state. Were you just as excited by that historical event as you are about Nancy Pelosi?
Or is it just when the liberals do what the conservatives have already done that floats your boat.
To answer your question, I think it doesn't matter. It might have been a big deal 30 years ago but it's quite ordinary today thanks to the advancements the republicans have been making since 1980.

I think it would be nice to have a speaker of the house that identified themselves as something other than a hypenated American.
Nancy Pelosi lost my support when she referred to herself as an Italian American.
You are either an American or not- it is that simple- any other adjective in fornt of that is used only to separate yourself from the rest of the population.
