honestly, I can't believe some of the answers I am reading here. You are interested in medical trans. work and getting bombarded with unsolicited.... sorry.

I used to own a computer service, repair & networking business. Many of my clients were dr's offices. Several of them outsourced their transciption to work at home people.

I know that you will need a good online service with high speed. More than likely you are going to need word perfect (what ever the latest version is, you might be able to get by with Microsoft word and an export to Word Perfect). My doctors also had a company they worked with that hooked up your equipment to theirs to get in hear the transcripts, type them and resubmit them for the files in the office. Each office is different.

As far as starting out from home. I would suggest you start calling the doctor's offices listed in your yellow pages. Ask to speak with the office manager and simply ask if they would be interested in outsourcing their transciptionist work. If local doctors don't get you work, go to yahoo's yellow pages and start searching out other dr's office. Make the same call and....from there on you sell yourself and your abilities.

Don't let a few no's discourage you. There are doctors out there looking for someone like you... more and more organizations are outsourcing. You can find them with a bit of your spent time and phone calls and save yourself $$$ in signing on with these stupid online scams.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please feel free to contact me via yahoo answers or compus1@yahoo.com
~good luck in your endeavors.
