Quite simple -- you're finding out really quickly what sort of women she is.
Real ladies carry themself with grace, confidence, and kindness... a kind gesture by any guy (regardless of his appearance or status) is always given a charming, friendly, and graceful response in return.
Anything less... well lets just say you found out what she is obviously not.

I don't think it is snottiness so much as people becoming desenstized to the everyday things around them. Sometimes people open doors for me and I blow throw them like a diva on crack, but it is usually because I am not paying attention. I try to keep my nose down though!
I can't speak for society, but generally people appreciate niceness. I love it, but I am guilty of being jaded by the everyday kindness, just like some many people. How often do any of us take the time to sincerely thank someone for openning the door? It happens so often I forget it is not an entitlement. I hardly ever remember to thank the store clerk for helping me and I should. They always thank me.
I think it is great that you continue to be nice. Maybe you'll have a better view if you change up your kind deed. Keep openning the doors, but try something else that is unexcepted (yet not over the top). If women are still being snotty, maybe there is something wrong going on that needs more exploration.

I don't think that's a woman thing. Many people do not remember to say thankyou when someone does that.
It is possible she BELIEVES she has the RIGHT to walk through open doors and doesn't NEED to show appreciation.
I know a girl like that. She waits by the classroom door instead of opening the door herself. She wants a boy to open it for her. I dislike this girl in general.

Dude.. this doesn't happen all the time, BUT.. the reason is that some women/people take it for granted that men 'should' open doors for them. It happened to me yesterday, and I just laughed it off because it's really their problem for not being gracious or lady-like. It shows how poor their upbringing is.
It's not even worth feeling offended.. I just let it slide off me by laughing it off.
Ladies, if I guy opens doors for you, it shows that he has good upbringing, good manners, and he is being a gentleman. If you act snooty, it's your problem - it lowers your status to a bottom feeder. It's a privilege, not a right, to be treated like a lady.
We do it out of consideration for you, out of chivalry. Don't take it for granted, and be gracious when you do get it. Otherwise, ladies, would you prefer guys slamming the door in your face?

Who cares I open the door for women all the time because I was raised that way. Most say thank you but some don't who cares. If you want to feel better tell them they have a nice *** as they walk by, or say your welcome anyways.Trust me I've said both they will respond.

some women are just snobs no matter what... i however would have said thank you and had there been a second door i would have held it open for you in return.. i dont think its just women though i think its people in general they just dont seem to be very nice anymore everyone is rude and ready to fight.. i just dont get it.. i went xmas shopping this year and actually got my arm slapped while trying to get a movie that was on sale...

I always hold open the door for the person who is coming right after me because its common courtesy, ive also been in your position and I do not know why such rude people exist.

Well some women are bitches! Sorry but most women can think they ar too good or they may have lots of money and just think they are gods greatest creation. I guess thats why I have no friends because all the girls that I have met they all tryed to have sex with my husbad and they were suppost to be my friends and they all told me they were better then I will ever be
