I cannot understand how this dude was nominated over Jamarcus Russell , after that awesome game last night . Jamarcus and the LSU Tigers had the toughest road scueldule playing the Auburn Tigers and losing just 3-7 . They also lost to a #2 Florida whose may i remind u is playing in the National CHAMPIONSHIP game. LSU proved that they can beat teams without having home team advantage with the dramatic Tennessee and Arkansas game whom everyone thought was going to bplaying for a National Championship title at the time. IF Jamarcus leaves he WILL get picked over this Quinn dude and IF he stays (which all us lsu fans pray he does) LSU WILL be a HARD team to BEAT , and they will be a contender for the National Championship under LES MILES not SABAN this time who can't make up his mind. What i can't fathom is how Quinn was nominated in the first place ? He is not a that bad player but he is not Heisman worthy and he didn't win, but just getting nominated is an honor. So how did this happen

I'm sure Bow Hunter is a ND fan. You don't even have to be a football fan to see who is the better QB. I was willing to give Quinn and ND the benefit of the doubt, but it's obvious they aren't close to being an elite college football program. There's a difference between playing Army or Navy or Coast Guard and playing a Florida or Tennessee every year. JaMarcus Russell has faced(and beaten) top competition every year, whereas Brady Quinn struggled against Georgia Tech and has never beaten anyone of prominence.

I'm an LSU fan too and we will be fine without Russell. Matt Flynn is not as much of a physical specimen but is just as accurate as Russell. Even if Flynn decides to go we have the mobile Ryan Perriloux.

It has not something to do with racism. It the certainty that Smith has the wonderful group interior the country. Quinn purely threw 6 or 7 touchdowns interior the super video games against USC, Michigan, and Georgia Tech. you could not say Quinn would not have the skills around him, he has Samardzija and McKnight besides as a sturdy line, not the wonderful, yet sturdy. His coach is likewise a extra effective offensive minded coach. With the 12 months he had final 12 months, there is not any reason Quinn could not have carried out a lot extra effective this 12 months, he purely could not get it carried out interior the three video games that mattered the main, the two statistically and at a contest point.

Simple. he was considered to be one of the top three best players in the country. His stats bear out a solid seasoin and a decent career, but he happened to have a tough time against tough teams and it cost him dearly. Smith is a talented QB on a solid team, but his size MIGHT be a knock against him (remember Eric Crouch from Nebraska) that would hide his stats and won-loss record. Russell simply had good luck (Tennessee) and bad luck (both losses) and it cost him "popularity points" though the Heisman is supposed to be a individual award. Quinn was deserving to be nominated, but I agree that Smith should've won based on overall success.

Russell is overrated as much as Quinn. Quinn had a pretty good season playing behind a line that couldn't block a pee-wee team. They dominated smaller teams but couldn't handle teams that were bigger than them. Put Quinn behind a good "O" line and he wins the Heisman. I'm not a ND fan but I can see good talent and Quinn has it. Even my wife could see he wasn't getting protection last night. Russell is big but I saw little safeties tackle him last night by themselves. He'll be a flop in the NFL.

He Plays in a Pro style offence he is what almost any team with no QB is looking for he can jump in to the pros and start playing unlike Troy Smith who is going to drop in the draft to late first round early second

I agree with you - Quinn is completely overrated as a QB. I sure hope the Raiders draft him #1 and I want to watch him flop in the NFL.

He is on Notre Dame and put up great stats against average teams, and the Heisman is not based on bowl games, so you can't really put their head-to-head game into consideration
