Thematic Essay?

I'm writing a thematic essay for Regents Practice this month but I have no idea how to write a thematic Essay because i don't know the outline. For example, when your writing about a book for the intro you have an attention grabber,then thesis, follow by title-author-genre-,preview and last sentence is transition or why its important.

Its similar to any essay you right. you want to establsih your theory or arguement. Decide what your stance is or what point of view you are going to take. Then you want to offer up support for that point of view. In your conclusion you want to restate what your opinion is and how you arrived at it.
