I hear the cliche, "That's the greatest thing since sliced bread" all the time, and I would just like to know, what is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Personally, I think sliced bread id vastly overrated.

Well, I'm going to have to say that a unified Democratic Germany is the greatest thing we've managed since 1930, when sliced bread was first marketed nationally.
It's an ironic suggestion because during WWII, the US instituted a ban on sliced bread, presumably to reduce waste. It may have been SLICED BREAD's self sacrifice that made our victory over the Nazi party possible at all!
Amazing.

Sliced bread is overrated, but think about it... now I can have bread, meat, lettuce, and sauce all in one hand and one bite!
Internet has to be the greatest thing since that. :)

Sliced bread ...we have knives who needs it. Very over rated. I think the best thing is the invention of the internet so that people can communicate with others and get help, love, food , support and knowledge when needed. Of course one EMP and that answer goes all to hell. THe shoe maybe...toilet paper...ice cream...coca cola...slipper socks...Advil...no wait...ipod.
