No chance - as much as the NHL doesn't want to admit to it, fighting is part of the game and what attracts a lot of fans. So the NHL isn't going to do anything that will ruin it's fan support. As long as it stays on the ice, they will be okay with it.

Dude, please. There is no way any serious fan would want that. Besides, Brashear is a girly-man compared to the old-school fighters from back in the day. I'm a Sabres fan, an I can remember Rob Ray and Ti Domi going at it until their sweaters were torn, their knuckles were bruised, and someone was spitting up teeth. Lately the only real fight I've seen was Brashear getting pummeled by Andrew Peters. An enforcer plays (or SHOULD play) an important role on a team. When two big guys go at it, that settles the disputes going on between two teams so the game doesn't end up a bench-emptying slugfest. Let the man do his job in peace!

Fighting is part of the game and needs to remain part of the game. The thing with Brashear are his cheap shots like his sucker punch on Ward.....those acts need to be taken out of the game, and the 1 game suspension he got was a joke.... Colin Campbell needs to wake up!

You must be a whimpy kid because your complaining about fighting. I guess you are a "Thrashers fan". Never seen real hockey before. Grown up watching the Norris Division and I still play that way.

Why...? Fighting in hockey is just as much part of the game as shooting. It is being phased out, but it will always remain a part of the game.
