In both the Sun and the Star Canada's spy agency (CSIS ) says that it is surpried that a nuclear attack has not been launched so far in the US or in Canada .

In this war on terror are we just waiting for a nuclear attack? That seems to be the message - at least it is the one I am getting .

In the article CSIS says a dirty bomb would not be hard to make at all .

I wonder about this as I suspect they have been hanging around a different crowd than most of us do - I have gtreat difficulty with the program settings on the coffee maker. None the less the article says it's a snapo to make one.

Wikipedia offers a useful perspective: a dirty bomb may not be all that attractive to terrorists, for a couple of reasons. It wouldn't kill all that many people, plus it'd be fairly tricky to make one -- not much payoff for the investment.

I agree terrorists may not be interested. It would look like an ordinary bomb at first, unless someone checked for radiation. Not many would die right away, if at all. There could be a big hunt to find everywhere that had some contamination, like when London was searched for traces of polonium. But it would take a large amount of waste to make a high level of contamination, otherwise it would be ignored. (Remember no one noticed the polonium until after the poisoned guy died) Evil political cover up could be to call it an accidental toxic spill, terrorists would get no credit. So, why would terrorists bother?
