does that mean that the average white person using these question and answer forums have switched their avatars from white to colored skin ? does look healthier but it's a shame humans don't really like themselves much. R-U too plain, too white or too dark ? self loathing is SAD ! I think that you are all BEAUTIFUL !

Thank you..
The skin my avitar is, is the skin color i am.. i would understand why they would go darker. some peoples avitar are what they wished they looked it. at times everyone wished they look diferent. thats because we are all inperfect. Its not sad at all! i mean people get tans that doesnt mean that they dont like their skin color. they are just enhancing it. i wear lotion so not to look ashy.. that doesnt mean i dont like my skin. i hope i made sence

I have noticed that a lot of white people use more of a 'tan' or medium skin toned avatar. I only notice this because I'm pretty pale so I originally chose the really white one since it's more realistic. There have been a lot of people I thought were Hispanic from looking at the avatar until they made a comment about how they were white. Maybe they are just not pale. It's not like there are that many avatar skin tones to choose from.

I think you may be reading into this a bit 2 much. As for white not being healthy "white to colored skin ? does look healthier" ... that is ur opinion. Have you any evidence that individuals have changed their avatars to a darker tone? Being white doesn't mean you look like a sheet of white paper!

My guess is that even though tanning is bad for your health, it's "in." So people darken their avatars to the tan that they want.

I don't think it's self-loathing... but growing up in an all white community tanning was a sign that you had leisure time, that you weren't stuck inside all day doing work.

But then at the same time freckles were bad. lol I dunno I don't get it.

Girl, you crazy, but I understand where you're coming from...maybe that's how they can make themselves appear "tanned". I got that in reality...365/24/7
