Easy - Janus. And it is "January" not "Janurary". Janus was a two-faced god who looked both backwards and forwards. Therefore he started the Julian calendar since he looked back and old year and ahead to the new year. He was a god of protection of gates and doors.

Janus. But the Indonesian god of gates is turnstyle. That is why the admonition is true, "man who goes through turnstyle sideways is going to Bangkok." LOL.

Ianus, the oak king. That was also the reason he was a god of doors, because doors were always made of oak, and since he was a sun god of the old variety, who died and was reborn every year, he had two faces, to symbolize the waxing and waning of the power of the sun.
