The "Job Recruitment/Work in a Hotel" Scam
This is a twist. Instead of going after the "rich" people I noticed that these scammers mostly use this tactic to those people from poor countries such as African countries, India and Pakistan. An individual will tell people that she/he works or has connections in a hotel (usually based in Canada) and the said hotel is currently hiring. They will conduct "interviews" via email and you will just have to answer simple questions. You will be then referred to a lawyer/immigration officer. You will be asked to send personal documents such as a copy of your passport and Social Security number (who knows what they could do with these information?) and pay fees to process your visa application. More and more fees will be asked from you and fake documents will be provided to you. The reality is there's no job opening, no visa processing being done and the said scammers are not even based in Canada (or whatever country) but mostly from Africa.

Here's an example of an email sent by a scammer:

I will assist you people in coming to Canada hotel as a tourist. Because of the new Immigration laws. The New Government laws did not favour more migrants again for security purposes, that is why I have to assist in bringing you people in as a tourist. If you will accept to work with me at hotel Canada. I will also help to process all you document through the Canadian immigration home office in toronto Canada. That you are visiting Canada as a tourist after processing all your entire documents at the immigration. The chief immigration officer will send to you all the necessary travelling document s that you all will need to obtain a visa at the Canadian embassy in you home country.

If ya know a girl like that i'd defilty say go for it, if not I don't blame you for wanting to do so have you tried writting to the canadian embasy for visa information or on seeking assylem? I can't do much to help with finding some one in Canada as i am near the southren US border but I would be willing to see if I can help. Been trying to find a nice Orthodox girl to mary myself.
