She is very concerned about appearance to friends, etc etc. Does anyone know of stores or coffee places that will hire 15 year olds in Murrieta or Temecula California.

The coolest job that I had as a High School kid was at the movie theatre. We got to get in to movies free and could bring up to two friends at a time. We also could have all the popcorn and pop that we wanted as long as we brought our own containers. Inventory for pop and popcorn was taken by the bags and cups, not the actual volume. So it's really cool when you can take a date or your best friends to see the latest movies for free! And get rfreshments free too! And from an employee standpoint, there is little work to be done. WHen all the movies are playing, there are few people in the halls or in line for tickets or food... so the work is easy. Quite a bit of standing around talking with your co-workers. The downside... I had to see Jurassic Park 5 times in order to take my friends and family who wanted to see it. But at least I didn't have to pay to see "Coneheads". That was a really dumb movie.

The second best was at the local amusement park. We could ride the rides free anytime, but we couldn't get our friends in free.

She should try to find a really super rich person in some ritzy town nearby who needs household help and errands run. Now that would be a cool job for a teenager right? I don't remember what the laws in CA are but it's not easy to find a "cool" job in CA when it's your first job. It may be easier for her to do something "cool" that is under the table. Most kids in my generation thought it was cool to work for McDonald's but I'm thinking that's probably not cool anymore if it was cool 15 years ago! That was my first job.

Clothing stores might be another option as well. She could pick a store she like to shop in so she woudl think its cool. An added bonus is that she would most likely get an employee discount on the clothes and save you some money!

Most Chick-fil-A's will hire 15-year-olds. Chick-fil-A also seems like a nice place to work, every-time I go there, all the workers seem happy. And not "pasted-on-smile" happy, genuinely happy. I'm pretty sure they pay decently too.

I think 15 is to young for a job, wait a couple of years, i believe she will need a work permit anyways.

If her friends are like that then she doesnt need them. As a parent you should tell her this. She will find out one day though! Theres no shame in any job. Theres only shame in those who arent hard workers and dont know what a hard days work is!
