The distributive property is when you take what is outside the parentheses and multiply it by everything inside the parentheses.

7(4w - 3) - 25w
7(4w) - 7(3) - 25w
28w - 21 - 25 w
3w - 21

Hope that helps!

Multiply the outer expression (7) by each of the inner expression values (4w) and (3). This gives you 28w - 21 - 25w or "3w - 21"

7(4w-3)-25w

multiply 7 with each term in the parantheses

28w - 21 - 25w

then you add (substract here, because one of the terms is negative) all the similar terms: you have 28w and -25w

so in the end you have

3w -21

Multiply the outside with EVERYTHING inside the parantheses. LEAVE THE -25w ALONE!

Ex: 7x4xw - 7x3 - 25w
28w-21-25w

Then, you find the like terms, then subract the like terms.
28w-25w-21
3w-21

Got it? ;)
