What about it?

Does it hurt? Yes...but it's nothing that will make you want to scream or even cry. But I'm not going to lie, there is pain.

Do NOT get your ear (any part of your ear!) pierced at a store or a kiosk in the mall. The damage those guns do to your ear in ridiculous and I honestly don't know how they were ever deemed "safe" by industry standards. First of all, your so-called "professional" piercer at your mall boutique was trained for less than two weeks and used foam ears for practice. And second, as for the gun itself? Plastic cannot be sterilized properly in an autoclave which is unsafe in and of itself. On top of that, the gun causes tissue trauma by forcing a fairly blunt object through your flesh and by pinching your ear with too snug jewelry that does not allow for breathing and proper healing. You'll also be told to twist your jewerly several times throughout the day which is a BIG no-no because it pushes infectious bactreia further into your ear. You shouldn't handle your jewelry at all unless you are cleaning it, and not with that crap they'll give you at the mall, either! You need a sea-salt solution to get the job done thoroughly.

Conversly, a professional piercer at a studio goes through 2-3 years (minimum) extrensive training and will continue to train throughout the course of their career. They know how the human body works, how to avoid nerves, and they go through rigourous training in sterilization and cross-contamination so that they can pierce you safely. Anything that touches you that cannot be sterilized in an autoclave is IMMEDIATELY discarded and never used again. Instead of a gun that causes blunt trauma to your ear (or whatever) you'll be pierced with a very sterile hollow needle that is extremely sharp and safely pushes aside the tissue that is not being pierced, similar to a needle used in a doctors office. In addition, the jewelry is a higher qaulity more conducive with the healing process.

Studios run higher then mall boutiques but the prices is worth it...you pay for what you get and you really want to be as safe as possible when it comes to putting things into your body.

Piercing, if done by a fully trained pro, is safe and enjoyable

Did that help?

what about it?

Does is hurt? not really
Is it hard to take care of them? no, as long as you follow the instructions and clease them as much as u should then you'll be fine
How long does it take for them to heal? 4~6 weeks.
You're ears might be hypersensitive tho, if so then even if u pierce ur ears u still can't wear earrings, and if your ears are sensitive then u'll have to wear speical earrings (like real gold or silver ones) and they cost more than the normal ones

completely safe... claires is an okay place to go. ive gotten all of my piercings done there and have never had any problems.. i have single and double piercings on both ears... no problems.
claires or icing in the mall, they use piercing guns..
its better to get needles, but if your jus getting your ears pierced..which you are... i dont see tha big problem in going to claires to get it done. cheap also! but if you really want to be safe, go to a tattoo parlor i guess...they use needles.
