Hulk Hogan was the start of gimmicks, and he led the way for other gimmicks like Ultimate Warrior, Jerk Cena, Roidtista, etc.... People with actual wrestling talent and background gets no love. Thats why the industry is such a joke now. But it's your choice i'm not trying to sway your opinion either way, but I want your thoughts on gimmicks v/s talent.

Check this out these little kids wouldnt know REAL wrestling if it kicked them in their @$$,
Gay Cena is nothing but eye candy for teenage girls who can't get a date or teenage boys who's gay and don't know it yet
The roid animal has NO cardio whatsoever,do you see how outa breath he gets if he hasta run?
Basically the only people who cheer for the people you named know $hit about wrestling,and only like that person because he's cute!HELL,even The Rock aint that great when you think about it,he just had GREAT mic skills!
I agree with Carlito last TRUELY talented champ we've had was Kurt Angle,and the reason I aint counting Triple H is because he go to where he's at now thanks to golddigging!

Wrestling fans are stupid now.
Wrestling promotions are stupid now.
It's like a chicken or egg thing. Does wwe push gimmicks over talent until we get used to it.
Or do they do it b/c the fans value gimmick over talent.
It must be both because the best wrestling talent alive like Benoit Y2J or shelton, or when they were in wwe-Angle and Christian gets ignored.
And look who gets on tv. Cena-horrible wrestler, Batista- horrible wrestler, Lashley- horrible wrestler, Khali- horrible wrestler, Rey-mediocre at best, Randy Orton- mediocre at best/highly overrated.
But then again, that's what TNA is for. Most of them have no charisma but can wrestle their @ss off. It depends on the type of fan you are. I prefer people with talent, so i primarily watch TNA and sometimes the IC matches on Raw, but to each their own
ps. kudos to "Carlito_scores" answer. It's rare to find a "real" wrestling fan on here

I agree with, I myself, cheer for talented people like Kurt Angle. And when the World's Greatest Tag Team re-united, I was up on my feet celebrating. And I always boo John Cena since he only knows two moves.

When was fake fighting ever considered a talent? Wrestling has been a joke from the start and will always be.
People with actual wrestling backgrounds become real fighters, or compete in form of real wrestling, where the contact is real and the winner is not determined before hand.

Because most people who spend money on WWE crap, tickets, PPV events, etc. are teenagers. They spend the most money so the storylines cater to them. I admit some gimmicks are funny & interesting and I enjoy them. But the dumbest most annoying ones are the ones that fans cheer for the most.

They find the gimmicks more entertaining than the "wrestling" aspects. They prefer the storylines being mostly played outside the ring than inside, and bigger guys are more "special" than the Ricky Steamboats and Harley Races.

One more time. Wrestling is like the movies. People watch it for its "artistic acting." We cry when the hero dies in the movies, but we all know no one "really died." The gimmicks are there to spice up wrestling cuz if not it would get boring. Remember the age of sit coms on TV and now it is the age of reality shows. Same thing for wrestling what ever works to bring in the all mighty greenback.

amen,these kids are too young to know about ricky steamboat,junk yard dog,ect.most of them don't know about rock and austin,they just have batista and cena so there is no way they could know about true talent.but they swear up and down they are the masters of wrestling fans,which is extreamly funny.thank god for tna.

because "ppl with actual talent " r actually good actors.....coz everything is scripted in wwe so..... there is no such thing as good talent ....and even if there was like i said ...it's scripted sp we cheer for whome we think/know is gonna win.......we make more money from new wrestling fans who think wwe is still 4 real lol
