The Exorcist for sure. Actually the scariest scene ever to be put on film is in Exorcist III. There's a certain scene in the hospital that scared me like no other. Another scary movie is Silence of the Lambs.

Halloween. It is my most watched DVD. Another movie that is not scary, but rather, surreal and fever-dreamesque is Mullholland Drive. Though it isnt scary, it does contain one of the most frightening scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original).. for one reason and one reason only.. it left almost every scary scene to your imagination.. it didn't show you what was going on, you had to guess.. and the human mind can think things that are much scarier than a movie could ever show.

The Shining. It has GREAT acting and being isolated in the middle of nowhere (as they are in the movie) has the potential to actually drive someone off edge.
