No never! I hate the way all the light stuff looks all grungy, like it needs to be rewashed. And they look terrible when they dry. No always separate. The colors don't always play well together.

used to when I was a poverty stricken college student with only cash enough for 1 load per week.
now I never do it.
now, my husband is a different story all together. he has been warned to never touch my laundry. oh, my goodness... white towel fluff all over my black dress slacks and sweaters! and then the white towels wind up grey after washing with his jeans.

Yeah and I ended up dying all the light stuff purplish-pink due to a dark purple towel I had!!

All the time. Use Warm/cold or cold/cold and you'll be fine.

If you're worried about colors running, they have these new "color fast" sheets. I think by Shout? (not sure on that.) which helps keep colors from bleeding.

i did the other day, & guess what. . . no more, my bf black sweat pants came out with lots of white lint. . .very noticeable; when he asked what had happened, I just looked a the other way.

yeah... eventually it starts dulling the whites a good bit, but it's fine to as long as its on cold
