Honestly, I have much better results with craigslist and ebay. For example, Once upon a child offered me $2 for a mint condition set of Classic Pooh bookends that cost $80 new. I sold them on ebay for $35.

I had a friend that worked at one in Texas for awhile, I have sold clothes to Plato's Closet (which is owned by the same people, only it's the adult version)
They have some system they use to pick things they are willing to buy from you, but honestly I don't understand it. They say it is based on style, size, condition of the clothes and demand but honestly they have bought stuff from me that was older and I didn't expect them to buy and have looked over things that I expected to get lots of money from. If you have free time, just chunk all your baby clothes in a laundry basket, then come back whenever they say.
If you aren't happy with the offer they make you, you do not have to accept it. Also, if they do not choose all of your clothes you can leave them there and they will donate them however most shops do not offer the option to you anymore you have to ask them to do so.
Goodluck!

I once took a few garbage bags full of newborn clothes, most only worn once, some still with tags, all in great shape. For one reason or the other they probably only took 1/2 of a bag. On top of that they gave me a only few bucks. I spent a lot of money on these clothes, and some were shower gifts. Never again will I do business with them. I have bought some clothes there in the past, but I would rather give my clothes away to someone whom I know could use them rather than be insulted.

Yes, I have -- they seem to be a bit on the cheap side -- meaning, I didn't get much for it. The advantage was, that I didn't have to wait until the item sold to get the $ - so that was nice. The ones in my area are rather picky on what they will accept -- and then, again, they don't give you much more than bargain basement rummage sale prices. It's better than nothing, I suppose. For items that seemed rather nice, I donated them outright to the local foster care system. I'd rather give it away to someone who could really use it, than to get a buck for something that they will profit 10x over on. Good luck

We have one the next town over, and we love it. We buy a lot of things new, but we like to buy things like strollers and baby saucers used because the kids don't fit in them very long. What's the point of buying a $200 stroller for a kid who's only going to use it a little over a year or so? Not to mention we can't use them in the winter here; the ice and snow are too deep. It's definitely good for families on a tight budget, like mine.

My sister set her own prices and paid a percentage to the store from things that sold. She has a full time job and said it wasn't worth it to her. It took too much time for what she got. She donates now.

I don't know about your area but in my area they don't pay that much for merchandise. My daughter had a John Lennon crib set, lamp, 2 extra crib sheets, John Lennon blanket, changing table holder and wall hanging and they offered her $20.00. The stuff looked brand new. No tears, stains or anything. She told them to forget it. I would try putting my stuff on ebay first.
