I have experience playing WOW, as I have leveled up a 60 undead mage, but I am not the most efficient at quick leveling. In your opinion, what is the quickest horde class to level through 40 and what would be the best method of obtaining it? Pure grind? All quests in an area...move on to next? A little of both? If I had more time to play I'd figure out a quick way to hit 40, but now that I have twins my game time is greatly reduced. Normally I would quest in an area and then move on...I'm just wondering if there is a quicker way for certain classes over others.

Thanks for the answers. Yep, I'm getting the expansion and want to hit 40 as quick as possible for the jewelcraft aspect, LOL! I don't want to have to get rid of mining/skinning from my main but I'll get rid of skinning if I have to. I have other characters who are closer to 40 than a new one, but I don't play them much so starting fresh would be quicker since I'll have more momentum.

I answered this question before to another players and the fastest way to level a character is to do many runs of the instances for your level. You get good xp plus gold items and you can complete quests while there.

As far as the fastest class... probably Rogues. Hey, thousands of gold farmers can't be wrong, right? :-P

Seriously though, the fastest classes are the ones that can kill mobs quickly (i.e. Mage, Rogue, Warlock), and have low amounts of down time (Rogue, since with the casters you have to drink every few kills. But most classes, if they're played correctly, will go decently quickly.

Leveling quickly is all about knowing what you're doing and managing your time. You've probably already noticed that a decent amount of time is taken up just by running back and forth across entire zones while questing, or by traveling to get to different places.

Therefore, if you're working in an area - finish as many quests as you can before turning them in. If you have a quest that'll send you to another zone entirely, you might want to wait till you're headed that way anyway. Don't go out of your way to try quests that are too high for you; don't try to sneak by large groups of enemies - it'll take more time usually to run back to your body and refill yourself than it would to just kill the mobs (and they're good exp anyway).

As far as instances - look online and check out all the quests that are available to you. Ideally pick up ALL of them before finding a group and heading in - the best run is the one where you'll be able to complete most, if not all of them.

Check WoWWiki and Allakhazam for guides and info, too. =)

warlock or hunter, you can kill elites your level and higher relatively easy compared to other classes, but grinding can only take you so far, quests is the way to go, try finishing quests in an area then moving on to another area of the same lvl quests and completing those, a lot of these quests consist of grinding in them

Night Elves start off at the best place. Class is your choice. They make good palys, mages, and rangers.
