I'd like to find a good book or website that deals with theories and/or archeological finds regarding cultures that predate the Olmecs, Sumerians, etc. Other than science fiction, anyone know of a good source for info on this subject?

there are many good books on prehistoric cultures, but they may be difficult to obtain and usually run over $100.00 for a single book. "journal of prehistoric religion" is a good source. "languages in prehistoric europe", "early civilization and literacy in europe", etc.

I don't remember quite how old the Olmecs are. Look up "sun dagger". I'll let you find out what it means for yourself. It's VERY interesting. I have a feeling it is around the same time as the Olmecs but possibly predates by a century or so.

EDIT

I so lied. It's much more recent but still interesting.
