To all the American ignoramuses out there this questioner is asking a fairly reasonable question. In the UK at the moment and for some time past there is a kind of witch hunt going on for PAEDOPHILES. It appears that anyone who talks to, innocently touches, looks at, is kind to a child is viewed as a PAEDOPHILE. So much so that many people are now afraid to offer comfort and a hug (this goes for teachers too) to a distressed child in case the finger of suspicion falls on them; thereby harming their reputation.
In the minds of many the thing has gone too far.
Oh and by the way British English (and we were the first to use the language) spells it PAEDOPHILE with an A.

In real life, you have to have the title of santa claus to do what he does. Even if you're a nice person, if you try to do anything like Santa Claus without Xmas and without being in that position, you will be not only called a pedophile but will also be arrested. I'm sure that atleast one guy who was a Santa Claus for Xmas, must have been arrested for being a pedophile. But Santa Claus is a tradition that was started by St. Nicholas and people just dress up and continue a good tradition. St. Nicholas is not a Pedophile. But all other santa Claus are just regular guys. Who is to say, amongst them, if some of them are , or they're not a pedophile. You've to get a background check for each of them, before they file for a SAnta Claus position.
You know what they say "Not everyone in the prison is a criminal. Not everyone outside is a saint". No one can say that all those guys who are dressed up as santa claus are 100% clean without any such thoughts in their mind.

santa is a "concept" or "way of thinking", not a real person.... the guy in the shopping mall is only WEARING a santa suit... that doesn't mean he IS santa... can't believe i'm answering such a dumb question. i have never heard of a concept being a real live paedophile before - get in touch with reality.
