All of the above answers here are good suggestions. As you may have noticed though, what works for one person very well can be totally useless for another. The best way to choose a technique that will work is to figure out how you learn.

People learn in many ways, but often there are a few that are more strong than the others. Do you learn things by seeing them (a visual learner), by hearing them (an auditory learner), by doing them (kinesthetic)? There are a lot of tests that you can take to find out, but you can also figure out how you learn by what you do best and why. For example, if you are good at remembering things you have read because you see a part of the text in your head you might be a visual learner, or if you can remember the conversation you had at lunch a while ago almost word for word, you might be a auditory learner. In contrast, if you have a hard time learning a new sports play, you might be less of a kinesthetic learner.

This means it's the last resort. I'm horrible at memorization, but by associating what I need to memorize with simple, general, and everyday things help me remember for a long time! For example, you can do this with words that sound like... or words that remind you of something, someone, etc... anything goes, it doesn't have to be related to what the words actually mean in the dictionary.

I think the easiest ways to memorize things is to create flash cards, write it down, or just read it over and over again. I think reading it over and over again is a lot easier.

Give yourself more time than you do and really learn the material.

Sometimes, studying a little each day is better than cramming.

If you have to cram, use flash cards and get a partner so you can hear the answers, say the answers and see the answers. Good luck!

Write everything down and make summaries. Make all test-yourselves, if there are any.
Also, try to study in an enviroment whitch is not disturbing, and in which you can concentrate well enough.
And of course, try to be relaxed when you're trying to study. Stress has a negative effect on your brains.

The easiest way to memorize something is to say it, write it and read it. Say it out loud and then write it down and then read out loud what you just wrote.

Not only do you want to read the material, but read it out loud, and often just the act of taking notes about the subject will be enough to solidify it in your mind.

use flashcards, write them out(and say it as u write them) several times, review though the notes and go thoru wat u leanred that day and when itz time to prepare fr the test, study. depends on wat kind of learner u r....if ur a visual learner, then think of something (as a connection) that u think of when u hear that word. if u r a ....non-visual learner, then u should jus write them out, yeah..but never cram stuff all in one day...thatz not a smart thing to do...also, sometiems, in the tests, the teacher may also ask the same ?s that he asks u on hw....no need to memoize the questions, but go throu them, review throu them.....and if ur memorizing a diagram, then u should think of how it looks like to u, and wat they're called, where they r located, wat their functions r ...etc.
hope this helps..:)
