From what I can find on freelotto, it is not entirely a scam. Some people do get small amounts of money (though there are a lot of hoops to jump through). Its purpose seems to be to gather email addresses so they can send you lots of spam. If you think the spam is worth the few dollars you might win, have at it.

Some lotteries are a lie, depending on the state. What happens is simple, people get the lotto passed under the guise of we will put the money made towards education. In many places, students of higher education never see a cent of that money. In Texas, no one ever sees that money. In the state of Georgia, when I attended college there, each semester, I got a check from the Georgia Lottery. They stuck to their word when they passed the lottery.

So, you may very well get a check from the lottery, and be thankful. There are many states out there that made the "ecducation" claim, but never followed through with it.

Before you cash that check, have your bank run the routing and account number on it. They can tell you if it is real. I got the same thing and it wasn't real.
