I get a yeast infection every 2-3 weeks, that's about 20 infections a year. I am allergic to difflucan, so it makes it hard to treat. I have done everything I can do phycially such as avoid certain things and letting myself air out, but i still get them again. I even use condoms, since i don't know how i keep getting them. But intercourse can be painful at times. I have become resistant to creams now. What next? What can I be tested for? Is it true that certain food allergies can be a part of yeast infection? please help me, is there any herbal or over the counter meds anyone can reccommend that has helped?

If you are having sex with a partner, boyfriend, or husband. He too probably is infected. You should both be treated for this. If one of you is not, you will just be giving the infection back and forth, regardless of what medication you are taking.

You need to limit your sugars as these can contribute to yeast infections and be sure you eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules. Also be sure the doc tests you for diabetes as diabetics are more prone to yeast infections. Avoid soaking in a bath tub and don't use any soap or body washes there. Do not douche unless the doctor tells you to. Check the lable on your underwear to be sure it is 100% cotton underwear. Also be sure the doc has checked for other infections to be sure it is a yeast infection. I am sure you are aware but with the yeast infection the discharge is like cottage cheese. You mentioned painful intercourse and this makes me think something else is going on too. Painful intercourse is usually a symptom of something else wrong. Even though I know I said not to douche you could ask your doc about douching with a tea tree oil douche and see if that helps.

the others have given good answers and another thing I can suggest is to make sure she is not eating a lot of foods that are high in sugar, they can increase the chance of her getting yeast infections. Having her eat yogurt every day is very good advice to help prevent yeast infections. I really hope you all are able to get some help. Have they given her any medication? I know they said they can't do a pap, but they should have at least given her meds to treat it.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

First are you self diagnosing or has a doctor diagnosed you?? You may not have a yeast at all it could be bacterial and yeast treatment will not cure that. If you truly have that many recurring yeasts you should be screened for diabetes immediately. Your first stop should be with a gynecologist.

Eating a diet high in sugars can make the yeast thrive in your body. I suggest reducing sugars and eating more plain yogurt. You might want to start the supplement acidophilus as that helps to reduce yeast in the body.

There's a book called the Yeast Connection or something like that. It lists food to avoid and foods to eat to reduce yeast in the body.

I recommend treating it with all natural Optiflora and Garlic Complex.

Optiflora is a two-product system which includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus...microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS...food source for microflora). Guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines. Also, the prebiotic fights the overgrowth of yeast as well.

Garlic Complex also destroys overgrowth of yeast.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
