Go into the settings through an admin account and then disable the password prompts for standby and hibernation.

Oooh, frustrating!!!
If system restore does not work, go into safe mode F8 and see if it will boot then go to user accounts and see what's up. If you still can't get in try another account on your machine or you might have to reformat in the worst case scenario. Consult a Windows XP book from the library or a CDrom that probably will help you! If you can get on the Internet go to the Microsoft technet library.

click start then click run and type in usercontrolpasswords2 and then uncheck the checked button that says ask for password or type the command into yahoo and it will correct for u

Simple. :) All you have to do is right click on the desktop...Then go to properties...Screen saver and click off the box that is asking for a password on resume. Cheers
