I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant, and my husband just got back from Iraq. I just found out today that my husband has to leave again on Jan 30th for some leadership training at another post. The training is for 30 days, so he will be back sometime around the 1st part of March. My due date is March 20th. Our nearest family is 13 hours away. We have friends but no one that we are actually "that" close to for this type of situation....does anyone have any advice or ideas on what we can do? (also I will have NO contact with him the whole time he is gone, only Red Cross Emergency)

Hmmm....
Go to your relatives while you can...

Or you could just go alone.

Your husband will back around the 1st of March and your not due till the 20th so what is the problem? He should get back in time and you should be thankful that he is not going to be in Iraq for the birth of your child. Do you know how many women gave birth while their husbands were deployed? Do you know how many women gave birth to babies whose daddies never came home? You need to suck it up and accept that for the time that your husband is in the military you are pretty much a single parent and you need to get used to doing alot of things on your own. I did it for 9 years and 6 days after giving birth to our first son my husband went to Korea for a year. Then 2 weeks after PCS'ing to Georgia he went to Iraq for a year. In the 9 years that he was in the Army he was gone for 4 years of it. Suck it up and drive on.

Besides going to stay with family (prob the most comfortable for you), look into joining one of those pregnant groups. Most towns have them; you can go online or to your town hall. not really sure how to get in touch. you are a bit far, so you prob wont get the same bond with people like you would if you joined one early, but they can be a huge support.

Hope everything works out. Good luck and congratulations!

Do you have any "teenaged" relatives or other older family members, who have a driver's license, that may come and stay with you for that period of time. If a family member could take a little time out of the normal routine and come and stay with you, that could solve the issue.

My wife's older brother's teenaged daugter came and stayed with her during a similar period for us.

Is it possible to be able to stay with family while he is gone? That may be your best bet.
That way, you only have to make the 13 hour drive once.
