"Capital punishment" shouldn't be called so. Because it is not a punishment !
A punishment is something you inflict on somebody to correct his/her behavior. When the person is dead, how can that be "punishment" ?
If you are looking for punishment, then lifetime imprisonment fits the description much more ! Think about this Moussaoui guy, who will spend, for the rest of his life, 23 hours out of 24 in total isolation !
Good laws (and punishments) exist to make life in society possible. In that regard, it should not involve such concepts as "justice", or rather "vengeance". Vengeance can be understood from people who have suffered a loss from a criminal, but from the general public, it is an ugly, childish and immature behavior.
Would you beat your dog to death with a baseball bat because he bit your child ? Probably not. You would have the dog euthanized. Why would you agree to a painful death for a human being ?
And the fact is capital punishment does NOT discourage people from killing. See the statistics on murders in countries that do not have it versus those which have.
I am not against death penalty. But the fact is, nowhere in the world it is used as it should. As a highly unusual measure, to be used when nothing else can protect the public.

I do believe in capital punishment, for sure. Take a life, lose your life. It's only right. Why have a guy sit in jail and waste money on him when you can just kill and get it overwith. I think it would help the families a lot. I wish they'd bring it to Canada.

I don't believe in the death sentence for 2 reasons.
a) 2 wrongs don't make a right
b) It is not for us to pass judgment and carry out sentences. Only God can do that.
And there's a possible 3rd reason, but it would require a change. Prisoners are living better than the average American, plenty of food, cable TV etc. If they weren't so priveleged, then living in prison would be a worse punishment than death, because most death row convicts don't believe in hell and so they would think they were living the worst it could get.

If the evidence proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, put them to death. Maybe they should be put to death in the same manner as their victim was. It should not take 20 years either.

Yes! However, I do not think the murderer should be entitled to a "painless death." They should suffer as their victims did!

No websites but if you search you can find facts that include:
-It costs more to put somebody to death than holding them in maximum security for over 50 years.
-Crime rates are higher in places with the death penalty
I don't agree that putting somebody to death is useful no matter what the charge is. It seems odd to put somebody to a painless death when they caused so much pain themselves. With that said I wouldn't lose any sleep either way.

Honestly, I not sure the government should have that kind of power. plus why should a killer get off so easy.
On the other had if it was someone who badly hurt or kill one of my children I'm quite sure I could kill them without losing any sleep.

Yes, I do believe in Capitol Punishment. I think it should be speedy like they did in Iraq. No 20 yrs on death row. That's crazy.I'm sick of paying my tax dollars to support these murderers. ~~

yes, i believe in cp in the case of undeniable guilt. and i think it should work the way it does in Iraq. Saddam was sentenced to death and it was carried out a few days later. here it takes years and years for multiple appeals to come through.

Since you asked in the particular way you did, I'm going to say no; I believe that a premeditated murderer should die in the same way that he killed his victim.
