There is not one place, best thing is to find some songwriting groups in your area with other lyricists and ask them to take a look, also check for workshops in your area put on by songwriting groups like the NSAI,Nashville Songwriters Assoction International, they have experts within the industry like Writers,Producers,Recording Artists to critque the writing, also you can get together with a musician and work on the lyrics and the music together. They are always looking for new writers and new ideas.

Your best bet is to find someone who writes music if you don't and turn the lyrics into songs first. Try craigslist.com, any classified newspaper listings where they have postings related to the music field, even try networking, go to local shows and talk to the performers, jam sessions are great for this if there are any going on near you.

It's very rare that a producer will look for just lyrics, most record companies and big-name artists want complete songs.

Then you can record a demo and shop that as well as submit it to be used for TV and film soundtracks which is very lucrative. If you send in lyric sheets, they'll probably just be thrown into the trash.

I write words (lyrics) not melodies (songs), so I know what u mean. Girl, I wish I knew!! I'd love for David Foster, Richard Marx, Dan Hill, or Diane Warren to put a good melody to my lyrics!
All I know about is a website by Jewel where poets and songwriters talk, but I haven't checked it out yet. If somebody gives u a good answer, can u let me know too? Good luck, ~L~
