Comedies (NON-raunchy!!) are a good bet for a first date.
Since it's kind of hard to talk in the movies, be sure to make plans to go for a bite to eat before or after the movie ... or something along those lines so you have a chance to talk to each other.

I think that a first date should be anything but a movie because you don't have an opportunity to talk or get to know one another. I think an activity would be a better bet. For example, dancing, bowling, skating, mini-golf, theme parks.
