Can i find out the status of e-mail sent to an aol friend?

I sent an e-mail to a friend using aol, how do I know whether it was read or not?

You open up the sent e-mail and click on status. The status will tell you whether the person read the e-mail or not.

You can't with AOL. They don't get a receipt to send back to you (assuming you sent via OE).
