Bush was not responsible for the execution of Saddam Hussein. The trial and execution were carried out entirely by the Iraqi government. Do you remember the free national election in which there was such massive participation by Iraqis? This was the government that carried out justice on Saddam Hussein.
Saddam was a head of state who was responsible for hundreds of thousands of murders of his own people, not including war deaths. As such, he was an exceptionally evil person. The US held him in custody until near the end, to make sure that he did not escape (he still had accomplices on the outside) and that he was not abused by some Iraqi with an understandable grudge against him.

Go back to 2003 when the war started, what was the law in regards to the death penalty, you'll find some interesting information.
Mr. Bush is sleeping when he knows that Saddam is being executed, c'mon who sleeps at 9pm on a Friday night. He's lied so many times are you still so dense as to believe a word he says now. He claims he's not seen the video, yaddy da! yea your a powerful person yet you don't want to see the video, don't even want to try and understand why the world is crying out for such a heinous act, we're not living in the dark ages anymore, specially here in America, Saddam should have been put in prison and stood trial for his other acts of terrorism then after ALL has been placed on the table, go ahead and execute him or left to rot in prison. Now he's being made into a Saint. gosh, how horrible. Call me stupid! Mr. Bush left it up to Iraqi government to make that decision, yet, on Friday I was outraged by a media heading "now Mr. Bush can act like God, he has the final decision, he's the only one that can save him from hanging".

1. Bush didn't do it - the new Iraqi government did. What newspapers are you reading to have missed such an important fact?
2. However, if you wish to include Mr Bush in your argument, may I just point out that there have been no terrorist attacks on mainland USA since 9/11.
3. I politely suggest that YA is not the place to ask this question. Try going to a website where Kurdish people can now express their views (for the first time ever) and post it there. Don't be surprised if you find no-one to agree with you though.
PS I'm Irish, I live in Italy, and I was partly educated in the US (my Doctorate).

It's about time they executed Saddam. Mercy may come to him through the Lord (doubt it) but it certainly didn't need to come from us, especially when leaving him to languish in prison the rest of his days is a recipe for disaster. It would give his insurgents too much to hope for. Now that he's gone, I definitely rest easier.
As for Bush... I don't believe in the way we went into Iraq, but I believe Saddam needed to be ousted. I wish it could have been done by the Iraqis, but it couldn't. Now I think we've done our work and need to bolster Iraq as much as we can, as quickly as we can.
Bush was not responsible for Saddam's execution. The United States military, under Bush's orders, was responsible for finding Saddam and bringing him to face justice in a court of his own countrymen that he dominated and tortured for so many years.
But I certainly didn't see Bush's signature on the execution order.

It's true Bush did not execute him officially but behind the scenes he was responsible..
Who invaded Iraq for a cause that was not there? and who captured Saddam and gave him up?
Although the US was one of the number 1 allies of Saddam when he was warring Iran..
Shows that u could trust no one in politics :)

Don't link the two - Iraq executed Saddam - not Bush.
You have two entirely different questions. 1. I don't care about Saddam. He gets way too much press for being a dictator - in the end he got what he deserved.
2. Has Bush done right? I disagree with our push into Iraq but I still respect Bush as our President and will support America. Bush followed what his advisers told him - so he along with John Kerry and Hillary Clinton (and most of the democrats) all voted to go into Iraq. Instead of blaming Bush - blame whoever gave America the incorrect assumption that MWD existed in Iraq.

Saddam was given a hell of a lot more respect and dignity than the hundreds of thousands he butchered. I was in Iraq and many men made a point of showing me their disfiguring scars from Saddam's torture. They were the lucky ones. Also Google the symptoms of nerve gas. It is a terrible way to die. When I go back to Iraq, I will piss on Saddam's grave.

Killing him have not united the factions in Iraq. So what's the point. The U.S had the power to stop the execution, but didn't do anything. Afterall, we all hate saddam.

I am totally disgusted by the whole thing. What Saddam did was horrendous, make no mistake. But I believe killing him was morally wrong, and...it gave him an easier way out. What should of been done was to make him languish in Prison, for the rest of his days....

Bush didn't execute him. A court did. And I don't think it will make any difference in world affairs.
