Yes. Just reach in and do it. They can't hurt you.
It's not good for the fish tho. You mess with the protective slime covering it has over its body.

yes they can but it will take the coat off the fish that helps keep him safe..
so it kill him if u did it alot unless they are sick and u are trying to clean them off and add new stuff to the tank .

No! The oils on your skin can destroy their protective slime coating and the fish's scales will rot off and it will die.
