Bleach works best at killing mold and mildew. Remember a little goes a long way. Keep the room ventilated so you don't hurt you lungs. There are products made by Tilex that prevent midlew in the bathroom if that is where your problem is.

First you have to get rid of the source or it will never go away. If the space is enclosed try putting a very shallow large pan of kitty litter out. That usually will do the trick.

Scrub it out with a mixture of cleaning soap and or dish soap and baking soda. Take it all apart and scrub it down and using comet with bleech usually does the trick.

spray liberally with lemon juice and vinegar mixture
let set a bit
wipe down
let dry thoroughly (with a fan maybe?)
