I know I'm suppose to write a paper on immigration...

Here's the assignment:

1.Summarize the important economic issues that need to be considered in shaping immigration policy.

What does my teacher mean by immigration policy?

2. Give you opinion/recommendation on what policy actions the Senate should pursue in regards to immigration.

Again, with the policy... does policy mean things like the guess worker program, or building a wall across the Souther border, or is that something else.

I am also unable to contact the teacher, and the paper is due right after winter break.

In the first question it sounds like she is talking about the rules of immigration as far as who can come in and the paperwork needed to become a resident, student or worker. I would do a search on immigration policy.

Will there be jobs for US citizens or will the immigrates take those jobs. That's what the teacher is asking on question one. The immigration policy is how many immigrates should we let in to the USA. Right now, the big immigration issue is like you stated "building a wall across the southern border." That wall would be the US's immigration policy. It is against the law for immigrates to sneak in.

I am assuming that the word policy means the rules and laws the government implements in order to control immigration.

You can also call a friend about the assignment and see what their view is.

Good luck!
