With Al Davis still around, I'm thinking LaMarcus Russell or Troy Smith. Don't think Quinn helped his stock any in the Sugar Bowl and I think the Raiders will be too tempted by the overall physical abilities of those two QBs.

Unless the raiders trade the pick, it will probably be a QB (Jemarcus Russell or the majorly overhyped Brady Quinn) or if the raiders have a change of heart and actuallky get a brain, an offensive lineman, (Jake Long from Michigan is one of th best, I dont know the others but im sure theres more)
Haha yea I agree with the guy right below me, I hope for Russells sake its Brady Quinn also, cause Russell really deserves better than the college team that is the Oakland Raiders.
Metsfan-Quinn a proven winner??? is it just me or did they lose to every good team they played this year.
Michigan-47 Notre Dame-21
USC-44 Notre Dame-24
LSU-41 Notre Dame-14
The only halfway decent team he played and beat was Penn St.
He beat Navy North Carolina, Air Force, Army, Stanford, Georgia Tech and Penn St.
With the exception of Penn State, those teams can make anybody look like a proven winner.
Give it up Quinn Sucks, which means he will fit right in with the raiders.

It's a toss up at this point.
The BIGGEST need for the Raiders is an offensive line. No QB can survive behind the way that OL has performed over the last 3-4 years. The Raiders have some serious cap room this year so I think they will look to fix their OL with some vets instead of using the draft. With the OL taken care of, the other needs for the Raiders include QB, RB, a run stuffing DT and possibly WR depending on whether Randy Moss and Jerry Porter stay or get traded.
A lot of that will be handled in FA, BEFORE the draft so it's hard to determine what they will do at this point.
The Raiders are rumored to be getting a new HC, so that would seriously affect the #1 pick as well. The big three would be Michigan DT Branch, LSU QB Russell and OU RB Adrien Peterson, with an outside chance at WR Calvin Johnson.
If DC Rob Ryan gets promoted, Branch would be a solid pick to help solidfy the run D for the Raiders. KC QB Damon Huard is a FA and could be signed pretty easily. The Raiders have 6 picks in the top 100 and could package a couple of those and WR Jerry Porter to move into the mid first round to draft Cal RB Marshawn Lynch.
If the Raiders keep their offensive system, Russel would be the obvious choice. With his size and moves he is not easily sacked which is very important behind our OL. Quinn is a system QB and just another in a long line of over rated ND QBs. Quinn is much more likely to be "The Next Rick Mirer" than "The Next Joe Montana" (who was drafted in the 3rd round). The raiders could then move up to get Lynch as stated above and grab a DT later in the draft. In addition, Russel, along with a new OC could make Porter and Moss into the force the Raiders thought they would be when the signed them both in 2005.
If the Raiders go with RB Peterson, they could move up from the 33rd pick to get Troy Smith or just grab Huard in FA to handle the QB spot with Walter. A DT in FA or later in the draft would be a possiblitiy as well.]
But the best player in this draft is probably at WR Calvin Johnson. He's Randy Moss's body with Jerry Rice's attitude. If the Raiders move both Porter and Moss, grab Huard in FA, I could see them grabbing Johnson and moving up to get Lynch.
In short, it's too soon to tell who the #1 pick will be because we have to see what holes the Raiders fill in FA. Then there is always the chance that Detroit, Tampa Bay or Cleveland (where Quinn says he wants to play) offer the Raiders a bunch of draft picks to switch spots so one of them can get Quinn, Russell or one of the other prospects.

I think Quinn will turn into what Joey Harrington has been. Also, I think JaMarcus Russell will have an amazing combine and will be the first QB selected, similar to how Vince Young supplanted Matt Leinart as the first QB taken when everyone thought Leinart would go first.
Too early to guess right now but I would say JaMarcus Russell. So much depends on the combine.

Raiders will most likely choose a QB. The best one in the draft is Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn.

I hope it is Brady Quinn over Jamarcus Russell only because Jamarcus don't need to start his NFL career in the Oakland Raider losing program. I would prefer that he was Brett Favre's replacement.

Probably Brady Quinn because the Raiders pick first and they have no good QB's on their roster.
