Ok, here is the deal. I can't really burp voluntarily or involuntarily. What happens is I get this emense build up of pressure in my chest, I can feel it seemingly all the time. I can guzzle coke or whatever, it doesn't make me burp.

What happens is I get this gurgle noise that comes out of the back of my throat when I breathe out. If I eat something big and greasy or just a soda, this gurgle will happen frequently. I'm also plagued with hickups. I've been like this as long as I have remembered. I guess its time to get it looked at. I can't even drink beer, after two, I get so bloated it feels horrid.

I can even make the noise of a burp, thats easy but its not a burp. I will burp on a rare occasion, its completely involuntarily when it happens and random. I can actually feel it and taste it, so i know I burped, but its rare, like every few months. And for some reason it only happens when i'm talking.

I've decided to get it looked at, but does anyone know anything about this?

You are not alone. I have the same problem. I think I have burped about ten times ever since infancy. I was looking for answers to the same question online today, and have read some interesting things. Unfortunately I can't back them up, but they may give you a starting point. One: it is a type of disorder that is the opposite of acid reflux. The "flap" that won't close for those people won't open for us. So air can't get out. I haven't looked too far into this, but it sounds surprisingly accurate. The other thing I read today is when you feel like you have to burp, stand or sit as straight as possible, thrust your jaw outward, and open your throat as much as you can. I tried it, and although it just sounds like another "gurgle", it may have partially worked. I will keep trying, and maybe get the hang of it. If you find anything, email me? I am so tired of not being able to burp..... and do the gurgling noises seem to come up at the worst times or what? It grosses my girlfriend out, and then it's just good night.... crapola. Good luck!!

You're definitely not alone. I have the SAME thing. EVERYTHING you wrote is exactly me. I've just recently turned 21 and I've already given up trying to drink. Alcohol/beer is my worst enemy :( no one understands me when I try to explain my problem. I wish we actually KNEW what this is called. I'm so tired of it. I wish I could get fixed :(

Doesn't bother me much, unless it becomes a game. I myself don't really even burp alloud. I think girls are hotter when they act like girls. No pulling other chicks hair, no farting, no consistent negativity. That stuff is a turnoff. Leave it to us dumb guys! Take the high-road

Me too! It's a shame because my entire family is big on burping. Don't worry. You're not alone. The gargles gross my girlfriend out also. And you can't control them. They just come out whenever your mouth is open. If you do end up going to the doctor, post what he/she says! I've always wondered what's wrong with me.

If it bothers you that much then see the doctor, More than likely, he will write you off as a hypochondriac.

You may be; however, you may be visiting a lazy doctor. See a digestive specialist in any event,
