I believe that they both apply. All depends were you hearts are and the situation the relationship is in. Absence does make the heart grow founder but also lets eyes wonder. Familiarity breeds contempt but only if you let it.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder------ for sure my bf had been dating for 3 years and i wanted to settle down but he was too comfortable, we lived 7 miles apart exactly saw eachother everyday. until i moved 60 miles away....6 months later he proposed so yep i stand strong on my answer

when im not around a guy for a while then i start to not like him anymore but....if i start to date a guy and we gte close then i cant stand him and i just want to be away from him... so in eh end i think that being friends is good but no more or no less...lol!!!
