I think that wages are a simplistic answer. The quality of people is the main issue. Unfortunately the best paid professionals in America are comedians and athletes rather than scientists and engineers. The youth are naturally attracted to occupations held in higher esteem. In Germany and Japan scientists are held in higher esteem. India and China are training far more scientists and engineers than the US. As long as this is the case America's future prospects are a joke (pardon the pun). Secondly, the emphasis on real estate investment has driven prices to unrealistic levels. The local companies pay for this through higher wages that do not necessarily buy a better standard of living for their employees. My company has turned down business in NJ because of housing costs, but we would gladly operate in ND. Third, legal liabilities are out of control. The courts are being used as a lottery system. Business pays the cost, but no new wealth is created in the process. Don't blame slave labour, make America more competitive.

The U.S. government is allowing this and promoting this, (outsourcing)... This is truly a global economy now. There is basically "slave labor" available to all of America`s corporations now. If an American corporation has the capital to invest in a facility in Mexico,China,or Eastern Europe and utilize it`s "slave labor"(cheap labor) American workers will be dumped...and they are, systematicly.......... When American corporations succeed, by outsourcing, Wall St. booms and the politicians reap the benifiets from the corporations (contributions).....Also, the economy "numbers" look great....because American companies are utilizing cheap labor with Washington D.C`s stamp of approval................I am a conservative....and I am clear minded enough to see how the American government is selling out it`s own people, ultimately for votes.......Speaking of that, that is the root of our immigration problem as well...Washington ignores the illegal immigrants and arab terrorists that are flowing in from the south....to maintain power........votes....Ok....I need to rest now.

For those who do not have a clue:
If the Companies build here they will fill the jobs with the people from there! Only now, all of their families have to come here with them, and because of the low wage positions(Most high wage positions there are filled by people from here!) you can count on the fact that poverty would be imported- not American entrepreneurship being created!

It's all about the money. They know they can pay them cheaper salaries and get away with it. Americans have labor laws protecting us from this. So long as they can find someone to do the job for alot less money, they will continue to seek outside of the United States. Thank you.

I think it is all part of a plan sanctioned by our government. I mean, they had to know how devastating this would be to the US economy. America is in a downward spiral and I doubt that we will be able to survive the consequences of our own foolishness. We have gone from being the leader of the industrial world to barely hanging on. I think it all began with the NAFTA agreement. The greed of powerful individuals knows no bounds.

GREED. There is no minimum wage in many of the foreign countries, fewer laws to govern wastes, no enviromental protection, less taxes, cheaper labor costs, and cheaper materials. Cheaper production costs and taxes equals more profits. There it is, in a nutshell.

They can decrease their expenses and increase profits. They also create jobs and help economies of other countries. It's a win win win situation. To bad Americans lose their jobs for this to happen.
