I talk to myself all the time, in fact that's how i deal with stuff,I don't think is a split personality disorder because i don't think of myself or see another person but i do it a lot...i can have whole conversations, i imagine a lot of things especially when stimulated with music this has been going on since a child, in fact a pschycologist once told my mother i had TOO MUCH imagination...could this have been a form of autism??

Most of us talk to ourselves. In fact, most of the times we are talking to ourselves but we are doing it silently. In our brains.
What do you think "thoughts" are?? A conversation with ourselves! You are doing it out loud. OK by me.... as long as you don;t want others to know your thoughts!

I hope this is not so bad as I do this all the time but not loudly. In fact, I always split my mind into two parties to argue against each other for a certain issue. I do it intentially and with full control and no implications on behavior. Am I sick??!!

Not at all. Talking to yourself has nothing to do with schizophrenia. A symptom of schizophrenia would be hearing voices. The opposite is true. A psychological study says that people who talk to themselves are particulary creative. Nothing to worry about.

Talking to yourself is just thinking out loud. Unless you're holding entire conversations out loud I wouldnt think there was anything wrong with you. Also, I have to sat that as a husbasnd and a father of two, I talk to myself quite a bit when I think I ma talking to them. LOL.

It's not autism or schizophrenia. A lot of people talk to themselves all the time (including my husband). It's just a release of energy, or perhaps they are more verbally oriented than the rest of us. I talk to my cats. Does that make me crazy? Certainly not.

Only if you answer yourself on a continual basis. Then it's a symptom. Everyone talks to themselves, or has an inner monologue. If your inner monologue has different voices and tells you to "kill, kill, kill" then I'd be worried.
The only thing wrong I can see from your question is you might be a hypochondriac.

No... It's not.

It is when you start answering yourself and the voice that is speaking back to you, doesn't sound at all like yours that you have a problem.

But if you absolutely MUST have some condition or disease in order to feel happy... How bout hypochondriac?

No. Sometimes I talk to myself when I cannot find anyone to talk to when I have a problem to solve, or if I am just stressing out. It brings more clarity to me when I hear it spoken out loud.

nope, its just a coping mechanism, i talk to myself quite a lot when i'm thinking things through, i find it helps me to clarify things. If it works for you, then keep doing it. It doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with you.

don't worry, you're good. lots of people do what you do. as long as it doesn't cause impairment in your life (make you miss school, avoid friendships, make you miserable and suicidal, etc.) you don't have to worry yourself about it. in fact, use it to your advantage and enjoy it!
