Well, while xbox360 is portable and made specifically for gaming, some people prefer to vamp up their computers for that extra gaming experience that is not yet matched.
The xbox360 will still have better graphics than the ps3 but the ps3 is still the better value overall, since there are still more games for it and it has (from what I understand) a bigger hard drive.
We prefer the xbox because we got the first model and it is sturdy and never broke on us, plus we have halo, which we DO feel is worth owning the unit.

They are a computer. I have both an alienware PC and a 360 simply because you can't get the same games on just 1 system. It's hard to compare a 360 to a PC, because basically they are alike, it's the controls and games that are different. There is not much difference in the graphics or frame rate, it usually depends on the developer of the games. But as of now the gaming systems have caught up with modern technology and a lot of times perform better than a PC. The problem I have with the 360 is they were poorly manufactured, I have already burnt up the power supply in the first 360 I had, and I have 2 friends who have already burnt up their first 360's too.

Consoles are in their own catagory of computer equipment. A PS3 has specific hardware design not found on any conventional computer.
IF they were like a conventional PC they would poo out nonsense error messages like file not found and blah users with blue screens of death. Everyone would be eating Snickers because they wouldn't be going anywhere for awhile.

i would compare both ps3 and xbox360 as better than my computer, lol. the games that are on the computer and these counsol systems seem to run slow on these counsols predicesors while new games on pc and counsols run faster on the counsols than the pc now, at least the ones ive played.

playstations can play dvds like some computer do, n all 3 can be connected through the internet to other players
