I 've heard this numerous times around where some gay people will say that because you don't act on your feelings you aren't considered gay. I totally disagree with this statement and I think it is unfair to new younger homosexuals that are trying to figure their sexual preference out. When i was younger, (I'm 30+ now) hearing this statement bothered me alot because I knew I was a lesbian from the get go. I didn't really feel comfortable with it though until I was in my 20's but ppl(friends) still said well your not because you hadn't acted on it? And I just feel that when your younger and whether it be woman/woman or man/man that turns you on or makes you think, look, and fantacise about your sexual preference that you should know then of who you are and it shouldn't be based if you acted on it or not. *What is your opinion on this topic? (Serious answers please)

people tend to confuse sexual orientation with sexual activity.
the thought of bisexuality or homosexuality seems strange to people who don't understand it, so all they can think about is the actual act of sex.
we all enter this world as virgins, and we all develop an understanding of ourselves and our sexualities in our adolescent years.. (some of us are in denial and take longer to realize our sexuality)
i officially admitted to myself that i was bi when i was 32. but i know that i have been bi my whole life.
as far as actualy sex, i am still a technical virgin. so does that make me nonsexual?? i don't think so.
whether i get it on sexually with men, women, or both, or none.. the fact is, i have interests and feelings for both, therefore, i am bisexual..
bottom line, it doesn't really matter what others think. society and peer presure mean nothing to me.
only people who really matter are the ones i love or desire to love.. and so far, my life has been filled with lonliness..
the fact that i have been unable to find a suitable partner is sad, but it has nothing to do with my sexual orientation.
as far as "acting out" feelings, well that's what masturbating and fantacising is all about! and i have a great wild immagination and i have enjoyed fantasizing about both sexes..

i completely agree with you. one of my best friends knew he was gay(as well as the rest of the word-he was lying to himself
:( ) and he went out with my best friend for 5 yrs, before getting engaged-then less than a month later came out of the closet.i believe it's the hypothalamus that controls the outcome of the child's sexuality so the child IS born with it. i came from a very traditional catholic family and we would always go to church....i remember hearing that one of my church members had to go to Mexico to "get blessed" but was actually going for an exorcist! catholics get SO crazy, they actually believe there is a demon in the child's body! a child's sexuality begins at such an early age, most people brush it off as "just being a kid" when you touch yourself, or if some of those acts happen at school.kids get curious, and they start to explore-it happens-get over it!
P.S. "Gay" cannot be spread or rubbed of on someone-it's not the influences you (or your child) have around you, so you can stop trying to protect them from the world, they'll be gay whenever the heck THEY feel like it, and there is nothing that can change the way they feel inside

I don't think what they said makes any sense. If that were true a person wouldn't have a sexual preference if they weren't regularly hooking up with people. I'm a straight virgin who hasn't done a lot with girls, but people don't tell me I'm not straight because of that. It may be that people who do not tolerate gays ad much as straights would rather think of someone as straight.

I consider you. i understand alot of folk belive that homophobia stems from secret gay desires and that i purely don't get that. i individually do no longer think of thats what reasons it. it may sometimes yet maximum individuals of circumstances, i think, are led to by skill of concern of the unknown and concern of exchange. yet, what those all people is lacking is that, to confirm that the worldwide to progression, exchange needs to ensue. differences are continuously occuring and diverse the time whilst the wind of exchange starts off to blow, human beings grow to be nervous and attempt to insurrection against it. it is been seen such diverse circumstances till now. yet, ultimately, gays gets their rights and individuals will slowly being to settle for them on a much wider scale. human beings used to have slaves, blacks and whites was segregated, interacial marriages was appeared at purely approximately as badly as gay ones are right this moment, women human beings used to and in some techniques, nonetheless are appeared at as 2d classification voters. a majority of those issues have replaced asthe worldwide has slowly opened its collective suggestions. And wager what? whilst those differences have been occuring there grew to become right into a HUGH uproar from the concervative side. NO NO NO those issues are undesirable incorrect. ANd related to slaves they concept it grew to become into super and have been indignant whilst the exchange got here approximately. Can human beings heavily no longer see that gay rights are the comparable real factor as a majority of those others?

My catholic school taught us this....Being Homosexual is not sinful, engaging in Homosexual acts IS.
I mean if a celebate priest can be straight and never have sex, certainly a celebate one can be gay...
BTW, I don't buy into the whole sin thing.
