80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Rule #1:There is no point in anything. That's what makes the miracle of life fun.
Rule #2: There is no goal or objective in life. This is done to make life seem as if there actually is a purpose.
Rule #3. The only purpose of life is to consciously be a witness as to what this entire universe is and to revel in it's beauty.
Rule #4. There are no rules.

im not religious so i cant even humor you im sure!! i think its natural for people to reproduce to carry out man kind...now that i am here in this day and age i just survive im not sent from god to do some great thing!! im here to raise my kids successfully so i hope and just live a long simple life...maybe however if im lucky the presents of my life will in some way help out another person while im alive

I think life isn't something to be questioned, just live it.
I mean, I know plenty of people who are miserable from constantly seeking the answer to this question.

TO ME life is beautifull,its a stage where actors come and go playing different characters,some of them becomes immortal and other just perish,so live and let live.

Seriously though: Life is like a candy coated sugar ball - damnably hard yet sweet centered! Just don't take IT too seriously, though, for when you smile, the whole world find you mysterious and smile with you just out of curiosity . . . yet when you cry, you do so alone . . .

well to me we are suppose to enjoy life!!!
make it da best we can..
have a family....
kids...
husband...
make mistakes....
correct yourself...
LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE UNHAPPY!..
grudges are a waste of perfect happiness....
smile when ur sad...
laugh when ur mad...
AAND LET GO OF WHAT U CAN CHANGE!!!....
so basically no one knw how LIFE got started exaclty...
but at least we have an idea...

my meaning of life is: i wan't to live it without committing any major sins and to get married and have children.
