Will everyone get off Nick Saban's back? The man is a professional. Had he stayed at Miami the Dolphins would have eventually became a force to contend with. Things seem to happen faster in NCAAF than they do in the NFL. You can control more of your own destiny at the college level than at the pro level. He will be very successful at Alabama or anywhere he chooses to go. I'm going out on a limb but he might even be able to help Notre Dame win a bowl game. I think everybody is jealous that he is now the highest payed coach in the NCAA. I wonder what would have happened if Jim Tressell received the same offer. That man isn't stupid either and he like any other professional out there would take advantage of what life throws at them. He should be honored to be the most sought after coach in the NCAA.

I think Bama will be his last stop. He decided pro ball wasn't his thing.
I have been an LSU season ticket holder since 1972. The thing about Saban is the man can recruit and that is the most important task for a college coach. When he left LSU you had to give him credit because the cupboard was full of talented athletes.
He will do the same for Bama and it will not take him long to turn the Tide. I can hardly wait for next season because the LSU vs. Bama is always a good game. Now it will be a war because people are pissed here in Louisiana at his decision to join the ranks of the enemy! LOL, we take our football here in the SEC way too seriously.

I think this is Saban's final stop. You can't blame the guy for what he did. He has a family and needs to take care of them plus make sure he makes the right decisions for his career. Saban has been successful at every college team he has coached (Toledo, Michigan St, and LSU). It's actually been pretty remarkable how he turned all of those around. With this new contract he's locked for 8 years and making enough money to support his kids through their lifetime. He knew that his future in the NFL wasn't secured and winning with the Dolphins wasn't going to be easy since Culpepper is a bust and they play in a conference with the Patriots and Jets. He can now finish out his career at one of the greatest college football schools of all-time and solidify his name as a one of the best college coaches in history (assuming he doesn't flop at Bama).

He'll still be at Alabama and we'll be winning bowl games and championships. He's just the kind of MAN we need to get the job done. Shula was soft and didnt have enough drive - and there have been numerous statements by AL players to support that. (Not to mention the fact that Shula would go for field goals EVERY SINGLE time we were in the red zone)
Saban is a no-nonsense coach who wants to leave his mark. And Alabama is just the place to do it. No one has been able to live up to or even close to the Bear. Now's his chance.

I don't care. The spectacle of Alabama throwing all that money to ANY football coach shows that its priorities are skewed.
