Sprint has the option to start your night and weekend minutes at 6pm or 7pm. Mobile to Mobile (Sprint or Nextel) Free incoming calls. But you get lots of dropped calls in certain non-sprint tower areas. 125.00 or 200.00 spending limit
Cingular has great reception Cingular to Cingular and they also a great Go Phone which is prepaid, you are not in a contract but you can buy a plan and have the money deduct from your checking account or credit card.
T-Mobile has the most whenever minutes. Mobile to Mobile and also a spending limit cap from 100.00 to 200.00 depending on what type of account you have. T-Mobile also has prepaid service.
Verizon has excellent reception. As for their plans I'm unsure. They do have Verizon to Verizon.
Also Boost Mobile is Nextel's prepay
Virgin Mobile is Sprint's prepay
There are so many to choose from.

Check with friends in your same area on what kind of reception they get, lost calls, roaming or not, etc with which companies and see which is working best for all of them. Do the homework for your particular area before shelling out the dollars and signing a 2 year contract! Also, make sure of the phone you get as well as the company. In rural areas there are still places digital only phones will not operate and you need an analog/digital phone or wont be talking at all.
Cellular One/Alltel is best in the western US.

T-Mobile has the best cost - and the best service in my opinion. Though my responce is bias because I use T-Mobile. However - check out Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint. It all depends on your area because Cingular could have max reception in your area while T-Mobile has little or none. Ask people who live in your area what their experience is. Still, I highly recommend T-Mobile - great customer support and a+ phones/service.

I'd recommend T-Mobile coz I have used it in the past and I recieved very good service. I had the family plan where I was sharing minutes and along with that package I got free T-mobile to T-mobile calls! Saved me tons of minutes.
