I need to read a copy of Tony Tanner's introduction to F Scott Fitzgeralds 'The Great Gatsby' this evening!!! I think it is in the 1990 Penguin edition of the book! Does anyone know where I could read it on the internet or how i could get hold of it fast?

Yes, the introduction is in the Penguin Modern Classics version of The Great Gatsby.

You should be able to find this in pretty much any decent bookstore - say Border's, Barnes and Noble, an independent. Your library may have it, but more likely they have an older hardcover version of the book. If you don't want to buy it, you could read the intro in the bookstore.

(Or ask a classmate.)

I found this on google books:
http://books.google.com/books?vid=ISBN0521783747&id=mBaNNWhWkHQC&pg=RA1-PA166&lpg=RA1-PA166&ots=654Y0PUHGL&dq=tony+tanner+gatsby&sig=XOvZ2lahRUslqf3f98e87jG09ic#PRA1-PR8,M1
I'm not sure if it would be the same as the intro, but it has Tanner discussing The Great Gatsby (p166 onwards).

i'll have to check my copy when I get home tonight. if it is the right copy i could bring it into work tomorrow and scan it and email it to you..... but that doesn't help for tonight.

Call your local library and see if they have the version you need.

Oh, you bad person!

Let me guess, an overnight need to grab someone else's crib notes.

What do you need and why?
