You can get free months by playing them off each other.

"I am thinking of subscribing to your services but what incentives can you offer me?"

"Well xxxx offered me x free months and a reduced rate to £x/month are you competitve with their services?"

You get the idea. The free broadband package is generally nonsense as they make their profits from you elsewhere the draw is just the "FREE" thing. As many people have said nothing is free.

However from a business stance they want your business and if one competitor is willing to other incentives then the others pretty much have to at least match them or lose customers.

The only way to get "free" broadband is to go to a WiFi hot spot and connect there. Some cities are starting to provide city wide free WiFi access and this will enable many people to log on through a wireless card in their desktop. The building that I work in has a WiFi hot spot that I can access through my wireless card if I wanted to.

With broadband costs going down you can generally get a lower-speed DSL connection for under $30 a month in many areas.

Good luck in your attempt to get some free bandwidth!

I get DSL broadband through Verzion for only $14. a month. I don't think they've gone up, but I've had it for quite a few years.

from experience ,the free broadband phenomenon is a waste of time
i have a neighbour who signed up for talk-talk free broadband in october ,and she is still waiting for her router and welcome pack, need i say more
i pay £22 per month for bt option 3 total broadband and its worth every penny, its the old saying"you pay for what you get"
trust me mate, dont go for free broadband, its a scam and the only winner is the provider,as they invent loads of silly add-on charges and you end up stuck with them for a 18 month contract
best internet service providers
1. b.t(british telecom)..http://www.bt.com/index.jsp
2. A.O.L (america on-line)...http://www.aol.co.uk/
3. tiscali....http://www.tiscali.co.uk/index_first.html
4. PIPEX....http://www.pipex.com/
i have named these in order of best service and reliability
although bt are generally the most expensive,in my opinion they have the best all round packages, and i received my welcome pack for my 1st router within 3 days, and was on broadband within 4,that was 4 years ago, since then i have upgraded to the bt home hub
good luck mate
