First, you mean an intelligent life form. If it is actually intelligent, it would do its best to stay away from humans.

If aliens (intelligent lifeforms) do existence and knew of the existence of Earth, why would they destroy it? We can't even travel in space effectively, we've only been to the moon, and we can't take care of events on our own planet (global warming, poverty, HIV, war). By those standards we're not even a small threat to the universe. If aliens do existence, their probably laughing at us as we commit suicide. If people don't change their attitude toward the environment, diseases, overpopulation, and treatment of each-other, there will be know need for aliens to destroy us, we'll be extinct already.

Would we destroy another life form from another planet if we would discover them?
Why would they destroy us? After searching a long time probably, they wouldn't destroy us, they would examine us and our planet, learn more about us etc., as we would do with them.
Intergalactic contacts, always pretty useful I guess, so why would they destroy us?
And if they would, there would probably be a war, so there is a chance that we would destroy them first..

They'd probably have a good laugh. Why would they need to destroy us ? We're doing a hell of a job ourselves with destruction. What sort of threat could humankind be to any other form of life far from here ? How would we attack them ? Throwing satellites at them ? We are still having trouble exploring our own solar system, so how could we be a threat to any other life form ?

Or they're not so corrupted as us and would see it as an opportunity for fellowship---at least that's how I would see another civilization and entity. This reaction of protection and fear is such an uncivilized human instinct and completely lacks spirituality and the higher parts of what comprises a human.

Hi!
Not necessarily! The more developed a civilization is, the more peaceful it becomes.
My question is: if we knew one... would we attack it?

If they had the power, they would also be able to see that we are destroying ourselves quite nicely, thanks, and don't need any help in that direction.
