I would go in a business suit. You can also dress anything up with a nice blazer.
If you are stuck, it is always best to dress up rather than down.

A business suit. If you've never seen a business suit or heard of one, it involves matching skirt and jacket, made of fine material. For a job interview you should wear a dark colored suit like black, violet or navy blue. Avoid bold or bright colors like red, lime green or peach. Wear a light colored blouse under the jacket, ivory for instance. You can accesorize, within reason, to add a slight splash of color, like with neckwear. Wear shoes and carry a purse that coordinates with the suit, nothing flashy. Jewelry should be muted. For earrings, wear small hoops or studs, nothing that dangles and may catch the interviewer's eyes while you speak. Wear no more than one ring on any finger, no more than two per hand (a engagement/wedding ring set counts as one ring). The theory is that you want the interviewer to see your face and concentrate on what you have to say, not on what you are wearing. Also carry some type of briefcase that looks professional. Dress conservatively and professional by all means. I would opt for a suit with a skirt, rather than pants. Wear a conservative color like black, navy, brown or gray. I would also suggest wearing hose and closed toed shoes. This is typical "bankers" attire and considered to be professional, classy and conservative.
I personally hate wearing hose and closed toed shoes, but who knows, maybe the compnay that hires you will have a more liberal dress code. For now, keep it ultra conservative.
Also keep your makeup minimal and professional (no shiny eyeshadow or too bright lipstick). Wear clear or natural nail polish. Lastly, keep your jewelry to one ring or bracelet on each hand if you really need to wear it at all. Wear pearl or conservative earrings too.
You may also want to bring a portfolio notepad or breifcase to make an even better impression. Stay positive. Thier job is to find you work and they get a commission and bonus structure for that. They want to add people to thier roster who will be excellent candidates for various positions. Good luck!

It's always better to over-dress rather than under-dress. I would recommend a two-piece suit. Either a blazer and slacks or a blazer and skirt (Make sure the skirt is at least knee-length, nothing too short) with a nice blouse underneath. Heels are fine, but not too high. Flats are fine as well. Also, if you wear a skirt make sure you wear pantyhose, do not go bare leg. Do not go too heavy on the makeup or jewelry as well. Good luck.

A suit or a nice skirt/pants and blazer. Not too many accesories, flashy jewelry or striking makeup. The key here is subdued. Once you get a positon you can see what the actual atmosphere is, but when in doubt go more conservative.
